The reason for right on red failing was nothing to do with public safety. It had to do with expenses by the city for new signs, redoing traffic light timings, and lack of wanting to pay for publicity.
We really need to give some points to senior and other drivers who have been treated as idiots by not being allowed ROR.
Not allowing ROR causes problems for Laval residents coming into the city. In Laval and off Island, ROR is the norm, and when they get into the city, they often forget that it is not the norm in Montreal.
And tourists all come from places (USA, other provinces, Europe) where ROR is the norm.
