(Montreal Gazette) Police have arrested a 37-year-old man after a 67-year-old woman was stabbed in an apartment building on Kingsley yesterday around 11 a.m..

The woman is in critical condition in hospital after being stabbed repeatedly in the upper body.

Police apprehended the suspect nearby at the corner of Ashdale and Baily.

He is currently being questioned by police investigators.

Neighbours have said that he is the son of the victim and said that they believed he has had a history of mental instability.

Police are attempting to determine the events which preceded the attack.

The area was quickly sealed off by police while ambulance and Cote Saint-Luc EMS crews removed the victim and was rushed to hospital.
