Congratulations to our Man in Ottawa, Anthony Housefather, MP for Mount Royal on his maiden speech in the House of Commons last week. Anthony’s speech on the welcoming of Syrian refugees was inspiring and informative. At ease in both official languages, he easily switched back and forth. In his usual complementary fasion he even took the opportunity to congratulate the previous government on past efforts to welcome refugees.
Anthony received a standing ovation at his inaugural address signaling the respect he has already received as a rookie and promising MP.
I hope that our Prime Minister is taking note of Anthony’s skills, intellect and passion for Canada as further assignments are divvied out within government ministries, committees and elsewhere in Parliament.
