A Circus Experience for the Whole Family

For the first time in its history, Cirque de Paris, presented by Anoushka Bouglione, is visiting Quebec from May 30 to August 4. This summer, the celebrated French circus will perform 70 shows in nine cities across Quebec. The 90-minute show is filled with thrills, humour, and enchantment. It’s a must-see event for all ages.

An Extraordinary Journey

Cirque de Paris is making its debut tour across the Atlantic, bringing its prestigious French circus tradition to Quebec audiences. Well-known in the U.S., the circus is now set to charm Quebecers in Terrebonne, Jonquière, LaSalle, Drummondville, Saint-Jérôme, Longueuil, Trois-Rivières, Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, and Beauport. Each performance promises an unforgettable experience, featuring original and technically challenging acts by internationally renowned artists.

Under the big top, magic unfolds with every performance. Anoushka Bouglione mesmerizes with her hula hoop act, while her husband, Reinaldo Monteiro, captivates with a new-age laser show. Their children, Selena and Noah, also shine—Selena with her foot juggling and Noah with an immersive light show.

Other highlights include Yosvany Rodriguez Pena’s complex choreography on the high wire. The show’s pinnacle is Kevin Chaves’ Rola-Bola act, where he balances on stacked cylinders and reaches incredible heights, accompanied by Selena’s breathtaking roller skate performance. The show wouldn’t be complete without a traditional clown act, adding a touch of humour throughout the evening.

A Rich Heritage

Anoushka Bouglione, the seventh generation of the famous French circus family, brings over a century of history to life. After many roles with Cirque Alexandre Bouglione, she launched her own production in January 2023. Her family’s French touch is evident in every aspect of the show, with her husband and children playing key roles.

“I’m extremely proud to have produced this show, which is the fruit of many years’ work, and to bring it all the way to Quebec is a magnificent achievement,” says Anoushka Bouglione.

A Show for the Whole Family

Cirque de Paris goes beyond the ring, offering lively intermissions and activities for the whole family. Kids can enjoy face-painting workshops and refreshing drinks during the break. Tickets are available now at Cirque de Paris.

A Night to Remember

I attended the show in LaSalle with my brother, Barry, an amateur circus and trapeze enthusiast. We were blown away by the high calibre of performance in such an intimate setting under the Big Top at Carrefour Angrignon. Every seat offers a great view, making the experience up close and personal.

The performers were outstanding, and the laser light show was a unique highlight we hadn’t seen even in high-end circus shows. The aerial straps scene set to the tune of “Je t’aime” was spectacular acrobatics, with the “Duo Illusion” dancers floating above us. This isn’t your ordinary suburban circus show.

The affable Pierre Paillé emcees the show with his deep, thunderous French voice as he introduces each act. I asked him about this marvelous show as you can see in the video below which also features my sidekick, the talented Barry Nashen!
